Tian Ming gave the opening remarks. He said Huxi Cup was a curtain-raiser of the Huxi Autumn Games, hoping more students came to enjoy the outdoor activities and took more physical exercise. Huxi Cup was not only students’ favorite sports event, but a representative activity which showed the campus life in CQU, Tian Ming added. He hoped Huxi Cup could ignite students’ passion about sports and brought them the enthusiasm for sports in autumn and winter. Then the representatives of judges and players took the oath, respecting and abiding by the rules in the true spirit of sportmanship, for the glory of sport.
Football is one of college students’ favorite sports, showing the vigour, creativity and perseverance of young people. And as a team sport, football could not only improve players’ skills, making them more competitive, but enhance team working and friendship among students. “The Cup will encourage students to come out of classroom, labs and dormitory to enjoy their extracurricular life and improve physical quality, which will pave the way for better study.”Tian Ming said in an interview.
